The Summer Reading Season: So Many Reading Guides

My favorite reading season is upon us! While I read so many books all year, there is something so buzzy about summer reading. I love the guides, the new releases, the beachy covers–all of it!

One of my favorite things to do is go through all the many summer reading guides and book lists and make notes of all the ones I want to read. My list is usually very long and involves a pretty journal, different color markers and stickers. It’s fun to check books off throughout the summer, and by the end of the summer see how many I have read.

Some readers don’t want to read the buzzy books. While I wouldn’t want to only read the buzzy books, I do enjoy the collective joy that comes with knowing so many readers are inhaling certain books at the same time. Reader, know thyself.

Here are links to the summer reading guides I especially love.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
