My Review:

I’ll admit that sometimes I decide to read a book solely based on its cover. I won’t even read the plot summary. Being the dog lover that I am, when I saw the beautiful black lab on the cover of Stacy Wilder’s Cayman Conundrum: A Liz Adams Mystery I knew I had to pick it up. I’m here to report that in addition to a great cover, this was an excellent, page-turning mystery. While this was my first Liz Adams Mystery, this read smoothly as a standalone. However, now I want to go back and read the first three books. I need more reading hours in my life to inhale all these great books! 

Liz is a wonderful PI and the chemistry with her new husband Brad is pitch perfect. It’s certainly unfortunate that they are pulled almost immediately into a case on what should be their honeymoon, but what a case it is! The author does not waste any time pulling readers into this twisty mystery on a beautiful island. This is armchair travel at its best, but there won’t be any dozing off during this mystery–the pace is fast and the clues keep coming. I loved the combination of a missing author, a missing manuscript and a missing buried treasure. That may sound like a lot but Stacy balances all these events so well, I was never overwhelmed. I enjoyed putting together the clues with Liz and her crew. 

Really well done – cozy and thriller elements combine to make a great read!
