A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder (A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder #1) by Holly Jackson
About the Book:
Everyone in Fairview knows the story.
Pretty and popular high school senior Andie Bell was murdered by her boyfriend, Sal Singh, who then killed himself. It was all anyone could talk about. And five years later, Pip sees how the tragedy still haunts her town.
But she can’t shake the feeling that there was more to what happened that day. She knew Sal when she was a child, and he was always so kind to her. How could he possibly have been a killer?
Now a senior herself, Pip decides to reexamine the closed case for her final project, at first just to cast doubt on the original investigation. But soon she discovers a trail of dark secrets that might actually prove Sal innocent . . . and the line between past and present begins to blur. Someone in Fairview doesn’t want Pip digging around for answers, and now her own life might be in danger.
My Review:
I’m late to the party when it comes to reading A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson but I’m SO glad my 13-almost-14 year old pressed this in my hands. And on audio with a full cast – YES! My heart was pounding as I listened, and I came up with every possible chore to do that allowed for listening time. Can’t wait to listen to book two.
What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Murder of a Suffragette (London Ladies’ Murder Club #4) by Marty Wingate
Listening: Daughter of Ruins by Yvette Manessis Corporon (Look for my review on this coming Monday, the 28th!)
Week in Review:
This felt like a rough week with one kiddo being pretty darn sick at the start of the week. Thankfully everyone is feeling better. I did love all the books I read this week, which I really needed. They were each wonderful escapes. I was able to read aloud to an adorable kindergarten class, and last night’s Trunk or Treat was fun.

Our trunk with a photobomb by Captain America!
Something I’m Looking Forward To:
No school this Friday through Tuesday! YES! I am so looking forward to some downtime, although the kids aren’t happy they have dentist appointments this coming Friday in the afternoon…the day after Halloween 😮
