🎃Monthly Highlights: October 2025

I’m happy to highlight the events of October 2025 – bookish and nonbookish! It’s a snapshot in time.

In a year that feels like it’s moving rather slowly, I feel like I blinked and October is over! As I write this, our neighborhood is full of the sounds of trick or treaters, and I’ve so enjoyed handing out candy and hearing jokes.

In October, we attended a fundraiser for the theater company my daughter attends and it was a lovely evening out, even though I was up way past my (very early) bedtime. We put up our Halloween decorations earlier in the month, enjoyed a few days off school here and there. We also loved seeing our daughter in a high school production of Arsenic and Old Lace. We got flu shots and even washed our windows one weekend.

I read fewer books than normal for me, but I felt like I slowed down and enjoyed them. Audiobooks are so helpful when there isn’t a lot of time to sit down and read. We are off this coming Monday, and I’m so hoping for some time with my book and a blanket.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
