Middle Grade Monday: Highlighting Recent Middle Grade Reads (November 2025)

On or around the third Monday of the month, I’ll be highlighting recent middle grade reads that I’ve enjoyed. I am so happy working part time in a school library – it’s wonderful to be with kids and books, and my reading life is so much richer! I read the following middle grade books between October 21, 2025 and November 21, 2025.

My middle grade reading paused for a bit so I have one title that I read and recommend:

The Enchantress Returns, Book Two in The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer

Gahhh! I can’t believe the ending of this entry into such a magically delightful series! And I’m on hold for book 3 and it’s a two week wait. Grabbed this one on audio like I did book 1 and loved it just as much. For anyone who has ever wanted to literally fall into a book, this series is for you. It’s funny, thoughtful, suspenseful and simply wonderful. I think about these characters and setting long after I finish. Five Stars!

Here are three middle grade titles sitting on my nightstand that I’m looking forward to diving into:

A Grimm Warning, Book Three in The Land of Stories by Chris Colfer

Frozen Peaches, Book Three in The Great Peach Experiment by Erin Soderberg Downing

The Nine Moons of Han Yu and Luli by Karina Yan Glaser

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
