I’m so happy to share a review of Gingerbread, Garlands, & Gunshots (Camper & Criminals #42) by Tonya Kappes, available now! I had a busy Thanksgiving and then a last minute project so when I finally had the chance to open up this cozy mystery I let out a contented sigh of relief to be back in Normal, Kentucky.

“It’s a not-so-merry Christmas in Normal, Kentucky! When bossy Gingerbread Gala chairwoman Harper Stewart is found strangled with holiday garland, campground owner Mae West and the Laundry Club Ladies swap cocoa for clues. From feuding bakers to a fake fundraiser—and even Mae’s mother-in-law landing on the suspect list—Happy Trails Campground becomes ground zero for one festive whodunit.”
I just love this series – even after 42 books, I am still a big fan and put this at the top of my comfort reads list! I enjoyed reading this by our Christmas tree on a snowy day. As always, the cozy details Tonya writes about the setting, the food, the weather, make the story come to life, and I can just sink into the story. I feel like I’m tagging along with Mae and the Laundry Club as they hunt for justice. With the Christmas theme, the extra details around the holiday were just so much fun.
Suspects abound in this latest entry and let me tell you, I was so surprised by the ending! I did not see that coming. The mystery is well plotted and paced, and the perfect page-turner when you need a break from the holiday hustle and bustle. And the humor sprinkled throughout always brings a smile to myself. Highly recommend for readers of the series and for those new to the series looking for a fun holiday read!
