Ten Bookish Wishes

Like many book lovers, I love reading AND thinking about books, making lists of books, thinking about ways to make my life more bookish…and on and on. Here are ten bookish wishes – some realistic and some that would require a fairy godmother to sprinkle some major bookish magic.

  1. I wish I had built in bookshelves and our entire family room was a library.
  2. I wish I had an unlimited book budget so that I could buy books all the time and donate money to libraries and other bookish related nonprofits.
  3. I wish that Hoopla had a way to create tags for items on my favorite list, just like Libby has.
  4. I wish every kid could buy a book at their school’s bookfair.
  5. Going along with number 1, I wish I had unlimited book space so that I could have a large section that would display books that I want to keep forever or series I’d love to own in entirety.
  6. I wish all types of reading would be welcome in classrooms during free reading time.
  7. I wish everyone would understand that audiobooks are reading.
  8. I wish I had bookshelves that would just make all books fit without changing up the room.
  9. I wish everyone had a cozy spot to read.
  10. I wish I could stay up later and not be tired the next day so I’d add even more reading time to my life!

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
