About the Book:
Spring has sprung in the Rocky Mountains, and Clear Creek is celebrating the arrival of the new season and increased tourism with a host of events — including a special cooking class taught by Jemma’s good friend, Chef Leandro.
When a knit-wit chef barges into Leandro’s kitchen insisting it’s now his, sparks fly between the two. It seems that everyone wants the new chef gone, but no one expects Jemma to find the man stabbed through the heart.
Leandro’s knife skills — and his argument with the dead man — make him the obvious suspect. But Jemma’s ready to cross needles with the Sheriff and anyone else who tries to place the blame on her friend.
With the killer’s eyes on Jemma from the start, she needs to weave in the ends before things unravel!

My Review:
This was my first stop in the Clear Creek Mysteries, but it is not going to be my last! I’m delighted to report that these titles are currently available on Kindle Unlimited so you can bet they’ve been added to my virtual stack. All this is to say, if you’re new to the series like me, you can certainly jump in and have no problems following along. Just be warned that you’re going to be adding the first four books to your TBR.
I read this so quickly, enjoying so much about it! First, it was freezing cold outside my house when I read this, so it was fun to be transported to a cozy small town set in the Spring by the Rocky Mountains. The writing brings the cozy setting and characters to life on the page.
The mystery is solid here, with clues neatly tucked in throughout and lots of possible suspects. While I didn’t guess anything ahead of time, I enjoyed the journey and tried to solve it with Jemma and her crew.
Speaking of all the characters, this is my favorite part of this story. I loved them all – each well drawn and unique. Granny was a hoot (I’ve said this before – I love stories featuring granddaughters and grandmas), and I wanted to reach my hand through the pages to pet Shorn.
Such a well-done, perfectly paced cozy mystery – a wonderful escape and while I can’t go visit Jemma and her yarn shop, I will certainly be visiting again from the pages of book one!
