☕The Sunday Salon: Sunday February 8, 2026 ♥️

Happy Sunday! Thanks to Deb Nance at Readerbuzz for hosting The Sunday Salon.

Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

The Pumpkin Princess and the Forever Night (The Pumpkin Princess #1) by Steven Banbury  — (middle grade fantasy adventure with so much heart and found family themes. Would be perfect to read in fall, and in fact, I’m saving book two for October!)

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: The Storm by Rachel Hawkins

Listening: Impossible Creatures (Impossible Creatures #1) by Katherine Rundell

Week in Review:

After holidays and snow days, we have a five day week and wow, I had forgotten what THAT was like. My daughter is in tech rehearsals for the high school’s production of Mama Mia. I had two evening meetings for volunteer activities I’m a part of, and last night we showed our kids the first Indiana Jones movie. Today I head to my knitting class (boy, that purl stitch is tricky!). My mom had a good post-op appointment and should move to outpatient PT soon.

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

We have a four day weekend coming up with no school this coming Friday and Monday. I’m meeting a friend this week for an evening at our local indie bookstore and have lunch plans with friends on Sunday.

  1. Congrats for making it through a 5-day week! That’s great that you get a couple more 4-day weeks to get back in the groove.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
