My Review:

This was such a fun start to a cozy mystery series! I read this in one day, having to take a break mid-day for other activities, and I could not wait to get back to Kelsey and the wedding nightmare of a century! I laughed out loud at several places, and held my breath other times, wondering just how it would wrap up. 

The pacing and humor in the story are just perfect. Readers don’t have to wait long for action to start, and the setting is also delightful. I have never been to San Miguel so getting to do some armchair traveling was a real plus. 

I adore Kelsey as a sleuth – especially when she has had it up to here with certain characters and lets loose with what she really thinks. She sure gives everything (weddings, mothers of the brides, sleuthing) her all. And her friendship with Brody is perfect. They balance each other so well. 

Readers looking for an entertaining escape filled with a tightly woven mystery and lots of laughs need look no further. This will even be available on Kindle Unlimited. I’m looking forward to reading book two!

As a freelance writer, Marla has written all sorts of things, from advertising copy to travel guidebooks to the occasional haiku, and it was while ghostwriting a guide to destination weddings that she found inspiration for her series. She currently lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband and a few too many cats. She is the Vice President of Sisters in Crime, Heart of Texas chapter.
