Week in Review:

Wow, January came in with an attitude and it’s not letting up. Rough week over here with lots of little things going wrong and then my mom falling and needing surgery. It’s going to be a long road to recovery. And now we are snowed in with bitter bitter temps. I am sad I’m not getting to see my mom today, but the roads are terrible. Thank goodness we can check in on the phone.

And then there’s the news–it’s just awful.

About the only things I feel like this month has going for it are books and puzzles.

One happy note – I loved my first knitting class, even though it was hard!

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

I’m not in a great looking forward mood, however…I’d like to see my mom moved to a rehab facility so we can keep moving forward on recovery. We also don’t have any school on Friday…maybe we might have a snow day earlier in the week?!?

  1. Ahh, hope you keep enjoying the knitting! I love crochet myself — it’s soothing to have something to do with one’s hands.

Hope your mom is doing better and will recover as quickly as possible.

  2. I want to learn to knit or crochet. I’m glad you enjoyed your first lesson.

I am so sorry about your mom. I hope the cold will let up soon, and you will get to visit with her.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
