☕The Sunday Salon: July 5, 2026 🎆

Happy Sunday! Thanks to Deb Nance at Readerbuzz for hosting The Sunday Salon.

Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

The Forget-Me-Not Library by Heather Webber – “A detour. A chance encounter. Two women who alter the pages of each other’s story.” Absolutely adored this lovely, magical book. If you love small towns, a sprinkle of magic and of course libraries, go ahead and read this. I just loved it. Wonderful on audio.

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Road Trip by Mary Kay Andrews

Listening: What Fell from the Sky by Adrianna Cuevas

BIG Book Slow But Steady: Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry  (Chapter 75, page 647 — I should finish this week and wow, I have loved this)

Week in Review:

The heat was brutal this past week! I’d do a few things in the morning and then have no get up and go the rest of the day! We had a great time last weekend seeing Shrek at the Muny. Thankfully it was before it got super hot. Got a visit into a bookstore this week, a lunch out and two meetings related to the middle school parent group. Our planned dinner of grilling rained out last night so we shifted things around and hope to do that tonight. We did watch Project Hail Mary last night and it was absolutely wonderful. I had loved the book and the movie was just as good.

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

My daughter starts a theatre camp this week and I’ve got two different outings planned with friends. And hopefully lots of reading!

  1. Road Trip and What Fell from the Sky both sound good and perfect for summer. One of these days I will finally get to read Project Hail Mary—I really liked the movie.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
