Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week
Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry – Wow! How do I write a few sentences about a 945 page book?! I read this over the last month. It did take me about 100 pages to get into it, but once I was in I was in. I finished it Tuesday and have been thinking about it ever since. It’s an emotional trip of a book – I chuckled sometimes and felt sad other times, and yet others I felt overwhelmed by the violence. I enjoyed reading about it after I finished as well. What other big books should I conquer?

Reading: Whose Body in the Library (Lighthouse Library Mystery #13) by Eva Gates
Listening: The Undead Fox of Deadwood Forest by Aubrey Hartman
BIG Book Slow But Steady: The Lincoln Highway by Amor Towles (page 25 out of 576)
Week in Review:
Whew, this was a bumpy week! Monday I visited a new to me local needlepoint store to purchase a beginner kit. I have been cross stitching since 2020 and would like to learn needlepoint. Found a cute jack-o-lantern kit. On Tuesday I finished Lonesome Dove which felt like a big accomplishment.
Then Wednesday and Thursday our AC went out. The heat combined with storms in the area made for perfect migraine time and general discomfort. Thankfully I saw a friend Wednesday for ice cream and another friend Thursday for lunch. On Friday we all enjoyed the cool AC temps and took it easy.
Something I’m Looking Forward To:
Hopefully a week of consistently feeling better, quiet reading time and seeing some friends.
