My Review:
This was so much fun! It was hot outside, and I had nowhere I had to be,so I sat down on a Sunday afternoon and read Murder At First Sight in one afternoon! I am eagerly waiting for book two.
I love a bit of a hot mess character and Amelia is definitely that at first, but oh my gosh she is so loveable. And readers can also see her figuring out stuff as the story moves along. Can you imagine just discovering your psychic when you’ve been volun-told to help with a town fair?! I love that this skill, though, ties back to women from her family.
The small town setting shines in this story – the “everyone knows everyone” works well, as does the old high school arch enemies part of the plot. I love that there’s a handsome detective but he doesn’t overshadow Amelia and her search to prevent violence.
I chuckled several times at situations and scenes Amelia finds herself in, and I adored all the side characters from her best friend, to her parents, to her brother.

JP writes cozy mysteries with quirky characters that make her laugh when they disagree with the laid-out plans for their story and take her on a different path. She lives in Winnipeg, Canada, and hates the cold weather but loves the winter months because they’re a great excuse to hibernate with a cup of tea or a glass of red wine. When she’s not writing or reading, she spends her summers in the garden and her winters plotting how to win her neighborhood Christmas display competition. They don’t know it’s a competition, but she plays to win nonetheless.
