The Spellmans Series by Lisa Lutz: Isabele “Izzy” Spellman, a 28-year old sleuth working for her parents’ private investigation firm, in San Francisco, California. 

I’m cheating a little as I’m highlighting an entire series, when I actually read the last book in the series (The Last Word) in 2013. These books are just so hilariously entertaining – I actually think about them a lot, wishing I could find a new series just like this. If you enjoyed Finlay Donovan or Stephanie Plum and haven’t tried these, I would recommend checking them out!
