☕The Sunday Salon: August 23, 2026 🏫

Happy Sunday! Thanks to Deb Nance at Readerbuzz for hosting The Sunday Salon.

Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan – All of the hype around this book is real and so worthy. If you like pretend dating, this is the book for you. It’s funny and swoony and just a delight. I was sorry when it ended because I didn’t want to let go.

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Bookish: How Reading Shapes Our Lives by Lucy Mangan

Listening: The Marigold Cottages Murder Collective (Marigold Cottages Murders #1) by Jo Nichols

BIG Book Slow But Steady: The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough (page 376 out of 692) Gahh! Didn’t read this at all this week!

Week in Review:
Wow! This week was exhausting but in a great way. Both kids had groups of friends over (so many snacks). We had open houses at the middle school and the high school. We saw two musicals: Something Rotten and The Big Bad Business of Murder. And last night we got to see the Savannah Bananas. Oh! And I worked three days.

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

School starts Tuesday so I am very excited to have today and tomorrow to catch my breath. I didn’t even hardly read anything last week so I’m looking forward to that. I am so excited to see the students on Tuesday as well. And settle into the back to school routine.

A review for a book I read earlier was published on Kings River Life News & Reviews. Check it out here:

Pair of Cozies from Ellen Byron & Vicki Delaney (Details at the end of the post on how to enter to win copies of both books, and links to purchase them from Amazon at the end of each review.)

Wishing everyone a happy week, filled with good bookish vibes!

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
