Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Millie Fleur’s Worst Day Ever by Christy Mandin – “Garden Glen was buzzing with excitement. It was time for the town’s annual Butterbloom Fest! Everyone was ready for the most perfect day of the year. Everyone except Millie Fleur La Fae. Instead of waking up bright-eyed and ready to take in everything the fair has to offer, Millie Fleur wakes up with a bad case of the morgenmuffels. Even worse, there’s a humbug tangled in her hair!” I love the Millie books so much, and I just so happened to read this on a day where I, too, woke up with a case of the morgenmuffels! What a great reminder of all the ways we can help ourselves when everything just stinks.
What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: The Pumpkin Spice Café by Laurie Gilmore
Listening: Tears of the Giraffe (No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency #2) by Alexander McCall Smith
Week in Review:
Full five days at school this week, with one day being picture day. My daughter and I saw her friend in a school production of Madhouse Jr, and we also saw Come From Away. Both were excellent. This weekend we took care of a lot of chores, took our son to the comic book shop and got our Halloween decorations up.
Something I’m Looking Forward To:
Two meetings in the evening this week and hopefully more time to sit down and read. There was hardly any last week!
