My Life Outside of Books:

This has been such a busy week, and while it was fun, I’m looking forward to a quieter week ahead. I haven’t been able to work much on my #NaNoWriMo project or really sit down and settle into a book. My reading time fell while I waited in my car at school for pick ups. All reading is great, but I do love a chance to really sink into a book.

3 Good Things:

  1. My son and I earned our yellow belts this week in taekwondo! Our test was Tuesday evening and we celebrated at the belt ceremony Friday night. Lots of fun and we are excited to learn more.
  2. My daughter had so much fun as Dora Bailey in Singin’ in the Rain Jr. I saw it multiple times as it ran Thursday night through this afternoon, and I loved it every time. I do have Good Mornin’ stuck in my head on loop, though.
  3. I discovered the Sisters in Crime Writers’ Podcast and am loving it! “The Sisters in Crime Writers’ Podcast is a conversation about writing. Featuring SinC members, and hosted by executive director Julie Hennrikus, this podcast is about the writing journey, lessons learned, publishing journeys, and the importance of community.”

Wishing everyone a happy week filled with good bookish vibes!

  3. Congratulations on earning you and your son earning yellow belts! And how fun that your daughter was in Singin’ in the Rain Jr! My daughter was very active in musical theater for a while there, but she’s slowed down some this year to explore other interests.

I am glad you enjoyed Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Lord: A Mystery. I would like to read that one someday.

I hope you have a great week, Sarah.

  4. Congratulations on achieving your yellow belts!

I’ve been crazy busy this week, too. I did wrap up my NaNoWriMo (by doing a few cheats, but, hey, I did write 50,000 words, so Happy Day!) I hope to spend tomorrow reading.

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m just getting around to visiting my blog friends this week—apologies for being so late to the table.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
