My Life Outside of Books:
It was not the Thanksgiving we had expected this year! My mom was sick so stayed home and my daughter woke up on Thanksgiving morning sick as well. Thankfully everyone is feeling much better.
I am definitely struggling to remember what day it is. Was supposed to meet a friend for tea yesterday morning and despite multiple reminders I had placed around, I woke up thinking it was Friday and thereby left my friend hanging and missed the entire get-together. Needless to say, I was so disappointed and upset with myself. Good time to practice self-compassion.
My daughter asked me to take her to the mall this afternoon. And while that’s not my favorite place especially with the holiday shopping crowds, I do enjoy spending time with her. My mother-in-law is braving the crowds and coming with us. I know I’ll need downtime to recover, so I have dinner in the crockpot as I type.
This upcoming week brings back the regular activities and lots of driving. Still chugging along with the #nanowrimo project. I won’t make 50,000 words, but I am happy to have a good start.
Hopefully we can all find moments this week to carve out that are peaceful and good for us.
3 Good Things:
- Our Christmas tree is up! Our new Christmas inflatable should arrive tomorrow (our old one stopped working at the end of the season last year). Our neighbor’s two preschool kiddos love to come over every evening when our inflatables come on and visit with them. We are leaving our turkey up until our new Christmas one arrives just for them!
- I took facebook off my phone and suddenly was able to concentrate on reading this week and thus read lots. Reading by the Christmas tree is my favorite.
- My husband and I were able to sneak two long walks in this past week and while it was chilly, it was so refreshing.
Wishing everyone a happy week filled with good bookish vibes!
