An upset Dani leaves without giving Jake a chance to explain, but when he doesn’t get in touch the next day, she takes a long walk along the beach to reevaluate her love life. That’s where she suddenly stumbles across Angelique’s body buried in the dunes near where she last saw her with Jake. Sure that Jake is innocent—of murder at least—Danika and her friends set out to prove Jake had nothing to do with her murder and stop a killer…before they strike again!

My Review:

I love everything about Lena Gregory’s Coffee & Cream Café Mystery series and book four, Buried on a Sundae was a five star read! My only “issue” with this series is that it makes me want to eat ice cream, but let’s be real…that’s not really a bad thing, is it?! 

Danika (Dani) Delany is a wonderful character and is surrounded by her amazing friends. These friends add so much to the story – I love it when a sleuth isn’t alone in their adventures. Dani’s romantic interests certainly have some ups and downs in the story, but I give two thumbs up to the resolution! I also love the role her family takes in the series, especially at the always entertaining dinners at Dani’s mom’s house. The descriptions help me to easily picture these large gatherings, and I chuckled several times. 

And let’s not forget to mention the mystery which brings tension to the start of the story and does not let up until the very end. No spoilers here, but I was worried how Dani would find her way out of this one! 

Excellent writing, a wonderful blend of mystery, humor and romance, and mouth-watering descriptions of ice cream and waffles make this a wonderful cozy mystery. I am a fan!

Lena Gregory is the author of the Bay Island Psychic Mysteries, which take place on a small island between the north and south forks of Long Island, New York, the All-Day Breakfast Café Mysteries, which are set on the outskirts of Florida’s Ocala National Forest, the Mini-Meadows Mysteries, set in a community of tiny homes in Central Florida, and the Coffee & Cream Café Mysteries, which take place in a small town on the south shore of eastern Long Island, New York.

Lena grew up in a small town on the south shore of eastern Long Island, but she recently traded in cold, damp, gray winters for the warmth and sunshine of central Florida, where she now lives with her husband, three kids, son-in-law, and four dogs. Her hobbies include spending time with family, reading, and walking. Her love for writing developed when her youngest son was born and didn’t sleep through the night. She works full-time as a writer and a freelance editor and is a member of Sisters in Crime.
