Favorite Read of the Week: I post reviews on Instagram and Goodreads. What have you read this week?

Murder in the Drawing Room (Cleopatra Fox #3) by C.J. Archer
About the Book:
Scandal, secrets and bawdy photographs are uncovered when the wife of a politician is murdered. Untangle the lies with Cleo and her friends and find the killer.
When Harry Armitage passes an investigation to Cleo involving adultery, they both think it will end in divorce. But when the client’s wife is found stabbed in her drawing room, it becomes clear that marital problems are only part of the story. Reluctantly joining forces, Cleo and Harry realize the wrong person was targeted, but the police think they have their killer and refuse to look elsewhere.
Taking on the investigation themselves, they peel back the lies and expose the sordid details of a marriage in tatters, and see firsthand how gossip and politics fuel the machinations of high society.
Meanwhile, at the Mayfair Hotel, expansion plans are on the menu, causing tensions to heat up in the kitchen between the chef and Cleo’s uncle. To make matters worse, Cleo’s family notices her spending less time at the hotel and more time investigating – and some members don’t like it.
My Review:
I am in love with C.J. Archer’s Cleopatra Fox historical mystery series – especially on audio. Part of me just wants to binge the whole series, while another part of me wants to balance the series with all the other wonderful books on my TBR. The problems of a booklover. Book three, Murder in the Drawing Room, finds Harry and Cleo joining forces (YAY!). I love this description from the publisher:
“Scandal, secrets and bawdy photographs are uncovered when the wife of a politician is murdered. Untangle the lies with Cleo and her friends and find the killer.”
Cleo is a wonderful sleuth, unafraid to defy convention in the search for justice.
What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Mean Low Water by Stephanie Alexander (Look for my review this coming Monday, November 4th)
Listening: Claws for Suspicion (A Catskills Pet Rescue Mystery #3) by Deborah Blake
Week in Review:
Whew! It was my son’s turn to be sick this week so we were all worn out! Thankfully he is better and we are all enjoying five days off from school. Halloween was fun, and now I need that candy out of my house because I have no self control with those tiny pieces of goodness. Tonight we have family over for chili and I’m trying a new cake – Apple Cider Doughnut Cake.

Something I’m Looking Forward To:
There’s a cozy mystery author event here in STL this coming Friday, and I am so excited to attend.
