☕The Sunday Salon: May 31, 2026 💐

Happy Sunday! Thanks to Deb Nance at Readerbuzz for hosting The Sunday Salon.

Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Mrs. Tim Christie(Mrs. Tim #1-2) by D.E. Stevenson – I wish I could remember how this ended up on my tbr because I am so thankful. What a delightful and gentle book. This is a series of four books originally published beginning in 1932 (later, books 1 and 2 were reissued together which is what I read). The books feature the diaries of Hester Christie, wife of army officer Tim Christie. Hester is funny and thoughtful and it’s a slice of life kind of story that I could easily just sink into. The entries are on everything from running a household to the gossip around her.

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: The Dry Grass of August by Anna Jean Mayhew

Listening: Moonlight Murder (Detective Aunty Investigates #2) by Uzma Jalaluddin

Week in Review:

It was a nice week – a mixture of relaxing and taking care of a few things. We had a variety of appointments that felt good to check off the list. We did a deep clean and purge of my son’s room which was top of my summer project list. My daughter and I saw the Michael Jackson movie. And I read a lot.

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

We are headed away to a long weekend next week. Not too far away but with a pool. We are bringing books, games, and snacks and I’m hoping we all enjoy the down time.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
