Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Scarecited on the First Day of School by Alliah L. Agostini, Lala Watkins (Illustrator) – A picture book about a young girl who is feeling mixed emotions about her first day of school. This is so creative and spot on! Creating combined words to express combined emotions is perfect and goes way beyond “hangry.” We aren’t all ONE feeling or ONE thing. I just loved this so much.
What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Dungeon Crawler Carl (Dungeon Crawler Carl #1) by Matt Dinniman
Listening: Dolly All the Time by Annabel Monaghan (This is DELIGHTFUL!)
BIG Book Slow But Steady: The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough (page 376 out of 692)
Week in Review:
A busy week is in the books – we had haircuts, driver’s ed, various doctors’ appointments, tea and art with friends, comic book shopping and Saturday night we are going to Guys & Dolls. Whew!
Something I’m Looking Forward To:
As much as I love breaks, I am looking forward to getting back to school. I am excited to see the students and my coworkers. I love a break and I love structure and routine. I work three days this week, just 15 hours total, so it’s a nice way to ease back into it. Students start back the 25th. There are open houses this week, and we have tickets to see Something Rotten at the Muny. Hopefully it cools off!
