Happy Sunday! Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon, and I’m joining in!
Weekly Reads Round Up: Sunday January 21st, 2024 – Saturday January 27th, 2024
I post reviews on Instagram and Goodreads. What have you read this week?
The Bookbinder’s Guide to Love (Wicked Sisters Book 1) by Katherine Garbera (I read an arc from Netgalley.)
The Christie Curse (A Book Collector Mystery Book 1) by Victoria Abbott (A book from my shelves!)
Bluff by Michael Kardos (I listened using my library’s Hoopla app. This was the January selection for the MomAdvice Book Club and was amazing. Instagram review here.)
A Body at the Séance (London Ladies’ Murder Club Book 2) by Marty Wingate (I read this for an upcoming review for Kings River Life. I loved it.)
How to Solve Your Own Murder (Castle Knoll Files Book 1) Kristen Perrin (Thank you so much to Cindy from Thoughts From A Page and Dutton Books for the chance to read an ARC. I loved it. Review linked below.)
Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A Guide to Reclaiming Yourself by Nedra Glover Tawwab (I listened using my library’s Libby app. Some great stuff in here.)
What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:
Reading: Killer Jam (Dewberry Farm Mysteries Book 1) by Karen MacInerney (I read a copy from my library.)
Listening: The Diamond Eye by Kate Quinn (A book from my shelves!)
Life:
The kids had a three day week this week with a snow (ICE!) day on Monday and teacher workshops on Friday. And despite that it felt like such a long week. I’m usually not a fan of wishing time away, but I’m ok with turning the calendar to February on Thursday.

3 Good Things:
One: My son made a New Year’s resolution to see his friends more, which is such a fun goal. On Friday he had three friends over and at one point they all descended into the kitchen hungry. I got a glimpse of what a future with hungry teenage boys might be like!
Two: I attended a zoom book discussion for Bluff by Michael Kardos and enjoyed listening to everyone’s comments.
Three: Saturdays are our family movie nights and we each take turns selecting a movie. We have a rule that you can’t yuck someone else’s yum – so no fussing about what the person selects for their movie night. Last night my husband selected The Karate Kid and that was a blast from the past for sure. I’m happy to report the kids loved it as well!
