Life:

A short week with no school for kids on Friday and a long weekend with no school this coming Monday! I’ll take it. It snowed a bunch (for us) on Friday. I was not mentally prepared as I thought we were just going to get a dusting. I was thankful we didn’t have to get out and about. This coming week I’m looking forward to two book club discussions and seeing our high school’s production of Addams Family next Saturday.

3 Good Things:

One: I participated in a Valentine’s card exchange with a bookish online group and it was such a happy thing to do. I had no idea how much joy it would bring me, but it certainly did. Several folks tucked in stickers and bookmarks. Even though the holiday has passed, I’m not ready to put the cards away since they bring me such cheer.

Two: Despite the snow on Friday, we had several days of beautiful sunshine and spring-like temps. I had back to back doctor appointments on Tuesday this week and miracles of miracles, I got to each one early and they took me early so I was all finished before my second appointment was even scheduled to start. It was amazing!

Three: My daughter and I saw Mamma Mia at The Fox Theatre in St. Louis and it was absolutely the best, happiest thing I have seen in a long time. I wasn’t my best self before we went–I was cold and tired and didn’t want to drive and deal with parking and stay up late, but off we went. And I am so glad. We had a great time together and loved every minute of the musical.

  2. I was delighted with the valentines I received at our naturalist group meeting. I should participate in a valentine exchange next year. I can see where it would bring a lot of joy.

We were able to see Mamma Mia on Broadway about ten years ago. It was fantastic!

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
