Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Enormous Wings by Laurie Frankel – Frankel is a master storyteller and pulls readers in from the first words on page one. I did everything I could to read – even coming home from dropping off my son for school, ignoring all my before work morning chores, and reading until just minutes before I had to be out the door. The premise is wild in this story but in Frankel’s hands it’s just so lovely and thoughtful and hopeful. I’ve been thinking about it all week.

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: The Mountains We Call Home (The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek #3) by Kim Michele Richardson

Listening: The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett

Week in Review:

Busy week balancing life and some really great books! The choir concert on Tuesday was lovely. Work was busy with the start of the book turn in contest. Our dishwasher is repaired (best news ever). And Friday I attended a Backwards Broadway performance at the high school that raised money for Broadway Cares. The music was so well done! Yesterday we got our flowers planted, along with a tomato and pepper plant. It looks lovely out there and we were so tired. Today we’re taking it easy and visiting moms and cooking out for dinner.

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

Two more weeks! So exciting! I’ll be attending the area book battle event for elementary schools this week – our shirts are adorable. There’s a dinner meeting this week as well and then there is field day at school. I’m charging up my neck fan because it looks like it’s going to be warm.

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
