Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Martha’s Vineyard, Isle of Dreams (Susan Branch’s Memoirs #2) by Susan Branch
“In the winter of 1982, long before she became the watercolor artist and author we know today, Susan Branch, 34-years-old and heart-broken from the sudden and unexpected end of her marriage in California, “ran away from home” to the Island of Martha’s Vineyard.” Absolutely loved this as much as I loved book one. I could not put it down, reading it in just two settings. It’s thoughtful and funny and so beautifully designed. I didn’t want it to end. I want all the Susan Branch books in my house!
What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Colton Gentry’s Third Act by Jeff Zentner
Listening: A Murderer’s Guide to Mardi GrasVintage Cookbook Mystery #5 by Ellen Byron
BIG Book Slow But Steady: The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough (page 209 out of 692)
Week in Review:
The birthday train has left the station and oh my goodness, I am beat! We had a lot of fun – we went out to lunch several times to special places, went to the bookstore and the art museum and had lots of cake. I am loving my new kindle and excited to try my beginner watercolor set.
Something I’m Looking Forward To:
Wow! I start back to school on the 18th and the kids on the 25th. The summer went by so quickly. Today I am seeing Alice by Heart with my daughter and tonight is book club. This coming week we have several appointments which aren’t very exciting but required. Hopefully we can carve out some quiet reading time, especially since it’s supposed to be so hot! We are hoping to see Meet Me In St Louis at the Muny on Thursday.
