Weekly Reads Round Up: Favorite Read of the Week

Stillmeadow Daybook (Stillmeadow #5) by Gladys Taber – I first learned about Gladys Taber from reading Susan Branch’s memoirs, and then I saw Deb Nance at Readerbuzz loved this so I found a copy from the St. Louis Public Library. And oh my gosh, I loved this so much. I kept noting certain passages that I wanted to re-read. It’s so thoughtful and lovely and I just want more. I feel like there is so much noise everywhere and I so often forget to just pause and that’s what I felt like I did when I opened this during the week.  

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Magnolia Wu Unfolds It All by Chanel Miller

Listening: Busted by Dan Gemeinhart

BIG Book Slow But Steady:A Court of Wings and Ruin (A Court of Thorns and Roses #3) by Sarah J. Maas (page 77 out of 699, grabbed this on audio now so I am hoping I make a lot of progress next weekend on a longer drive I have!) 

Week in Review: 

We had so much fun looking after our neighbor’s new cats. It was a fun treat to go over each day and play with them. It was horribly hot all week. It made it hard to think and all that indoor recess made kids at school stir crazy! Not a lot of sit down and read time, but I did work on my current cross stitch project that I am doing for my daughter. That means good audiobook time. 

We also celebrated the 9th anniversary of having our dog Frenchy in our family!

Something I’m Looking Forward To:

I am heading out of town next weekend to visit a college friend! I haven’t had a trip on my own in I can’t even remember. Lots to do to get ready since the weekend is when I do a boatload of chores, but it will be worth it! I am also so hopeful that the predicted cooler temps for this coming week will actually happen.
