The Sunday Salon: Sunday March 10, 2024

Happy Sunday! Deb Nance at Readerbuzz hosts The Sunday Salon, and I’m joining in!

Weekly Reads Round Up: Sunday March 3, 2024 – Saturday March 9, 2024

I post reviews on Instagram and Goodreads. What have you read this week?

What I’m Reading & Listening to Now:

Reading: Lady Codebreaker by K.D. Alden

Listening: Come Fly The World: The Jet-Age Story of the Women of Pan Am by Julia Cooke

Life:

What a long week! It was a week with what I call boomerang tasks–tasks you think you’ve finished and cross off your list, only to find them flinging themselves back at you! We did have an amazing crockpot minestrone soup this week. It makes the house smell so good and we had lots of leftovers. It’s those little things that bring cheer to the week.

3 Good Things:

One:  I got to read to four classes at our elementary school for a “from stories to service” project our district is organizing. I absolutely love reading aloud to kids. I read The Girl with Big, Big Questions by Britney Winn Lee, illustrated by Jacob Souva. Such thoughtful kids!

Two: I took my daughter and a friend to see another friend in a local production of High School Musical Jr and it was great fun.

Three: The sunshine both yesterday and today has felt so welcome.

  1. Soup is my go-to meal during the fall/winter just like salad is during spring/summer. Right now the weather can’t decide if it’s winter or spring so it’s tough to plan. Minestrone soup sounds wonderful.

One of my friends in my writing group is trying to write a mystery novel. I’ll share that book title with her.

I like that term “boomerang tasks”. I may have to borrow it! I look forward to reading Reading to the kids sounds like a lot of fun. I am glad you are able to do that!

The Underground Library, especially knowing it was a five star read for you. The Ladies Rewrite the Rules is another one that really appeals to me.

How fun that you were able to go see High School Musical Jr!

I hope you are having a great week, Sarah!

About Me

Welcome! I started my career as a children’s librarian, later becoming a public library director and now I’m a stay at home mom. While my career might have changed, my love of reading has been a constant since I was in 4th grade, and I read over 200 books a year. I love talking about books and connecting readers of all ages with just the right book. Thanks for reading!
